How companies are evaluated
Nominations help us find candidates and source material. They do not add points. The same five dimensions apply to every contractor in the comparison set.
35%
Rating quality, review volume, review recency, and recurring customer themes. A high rating with a small sample is not treated like a sustained record.
25%
A working business identity, first-party service details, and evidence that the contractor serves the market and categories under review.
20%
Documented material, project, gate, repair, commercial, or specialty capabilities relevant to the category being evaluated.
10%
Years operating and public accountability signals such as licensing where applicable, complaint history, trade memberships, and verifiable business records.
10%
A source-by-source review for consistency, unsupported claims, material omissions, and evidence submitted by customers, contractors, or industry professionals.

02
We reconcile the business identity, service area, first-party profile, public reputation data, and any submitted evidence.
03
A market or category advances only when at least 5 contractors have enough comparable evidence. Thin markets receive no award.
04
Selections are documented by edition, market, and category. Contractors may request factual corrections, but cannot pay to change a decision.
Earned recognition
Nomination, eligibility, scoring, and editorial decisions are independent of payment. Confirmed winners receive an edition-specific digital badge under our publicizing rules.

Membership can unlock a richer owner-managed profile, website and social links, and limited paid placement. These commercial features do not alter the research decision.

Give us enough detail to verify the company and the market. First-party pages, public profiles, licensing records, association profiles, project references, and specific customer evidence are more useful than general praise.
Questions

No. Nominations identify candidates and sources. Results are based on comparable evidence, not vote count, popularity campaigns, or payment.
No. A market or category must have at least 5 evidence-qualified contractors. We publish no selection when the comparison set is too thin or the evidence is inconclusive.
